SWOT Workshop This particular workshop was designed for a local client. SWOT Workshop Synopsis The aim of the workshop was to provide a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis of the Branch's Business Plan adopted in 2002. Based on the results of the workshop, the points raised by the participants were categorized under strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threat listings. They served as the raw data arising from the group discussions for this report. Subsequently, this data was examined and placed into four areas identified as critical for the success of the Business Plan. These four areas or groups are Human Resources, Partnership Planning, the Centre of Branch Expertise and Management issues. In each category, priority issues were placed in broad categories and listed with their related items in an effort to highlight them for action. Each issue or point raised was identified by letter in the left-hand column to show its origin from the raw data of the SWOT listings. Additionally, the four areas arising from raw data were placed into Action Charts according to priorities, action steps required and personnel responsible for implementing the recommended steps. Every effort was made to include all the issues arising from the strategic planning workshop. A systematic plan of action was developed and listed under each identified priority so as to delineate the steps in the process. Finally, opening preambles were included as an introduction to each Action Chart. Comments and questions were included for consideration in an effort to help broaden the examination and implementation of each action item. With a proper understanding of issues facing the Branch as it implements the business plan, necessary and realistic goals will be established in subsequent weeks. They will serve as a strong and viable foundation to the Human Resources Plan and the Development and Transition Strategy over the course of the next few years. [back] |
